Seller of the month

Seller of the month OnlineAuction.com

I started selling on online about two years after my mother-in-law passed away and I had been holding on to some of her things that were too nice to put in a garage sale. My daughter-in-law wanted to go in partnership and talked me into signing up for eBay. Started out with some vintage books and took off from there. She then decided not to do the selling or helping out and I had to do it on my own. Whew! So afraid I would make a mistake somewhere but carried on until now I can do it, somewhat sometimes. lol

I have purchased so many interesting items online that I can’t really think of one that stands out more than the other. I guess one was a wooden gnomes head, very neat looking. I didn’t have a clue of the maker but this was so interesting that I purchased it to give it a try to sell on eBay, I paid 50 cents for it. I put it on for 6.99 I believe and the next thing I knew it sold for 130.00. The buyer told me the name of it and said it was very collectible and from Norway. The name escapes me now and I have never seen another one. I could give so many stories like this but I am sure all sellers find the same types of sale and buys.

My hobby is mostly gardening. Love planting things whether it be flowers, veggies or trees. I start a lot of my own plants from cuttings or rooting’s. I don’t do as much starting plants as azalea’s or rhoddies as I overrun my yard with plants. Roses are a challenge to root; some are easy while others take some doing. I’ve given a lot of plants to my son when they built their home, and saved them a lot of money.

I love to read also, currently reading some V. C. Andrews series. I also crochet and going to make the girls in the family some neck scarves soon. We thought about doing some traveling but don’t think we want to do that for long. We don’t like to leave our house unattended for any real length of time as we don’t have close by neighbors to watch the homestead and winter we need to make sure our sump pump is working properly.

If you have a lot of items it is best to create a store and have items indexed for easy finding by customers. I found that out from some potential customers who didn’t want to look at every page for something and wanted me to index the item. I really didn’t know much about doing this on my own and thanks to other sellers on OLA that helped me set up my store.. Without these wonderful people helping I couldn’t of done it. Now there are some articles on doing things to set up your store in the help pages, written by these sellers. I realize how important it is to keep fresh items and rotating them. Something I don’t get to do often enough.

There is a lot of sellers and OLA staff that is wonderful and want to help anyone out with their stores. Just say the word and they are available. If it wasn’t for them, well don’t know. lol.  This is a great site and it will get greater as we go along.

Thanks OLA and thank you to my friends and fellow sellers and buyers!  OLA Store: http://www.onlineauction.com/store/goldi
